Lent-themed Services on Thursdays @ 6:35 PM

Good Shepherd wishes to remind all that throughout Lent, Worship Village (our Midweek Service of Worship, Word and Holy Communion) will hold Lenten-themed services each Thursday @ 6:35 PM.

It begins this week, February 16 (yep, one week BEFORE Lent) as Pastor Randy breaks to Lent Law and starts early by preaching on "Preparing For Lent: Beware the Legalism" based on Mark 9:2-8 (the Transfiguration of Jesus).

Next week, Worship Village will feature our "Ash Thursday" Service (yep, we're breaking the Lent Law again and imposing ashes on the day AFTER Ash Wednesday.)

Join us at Worship Village throughout Lent as we study God's Word and follow Jesus as he is led by the Holy Spirit into the desert. Paul tells us in Galatians 5:18 "If you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law" and THAT is Good News! Hear more at Worship Village every Thursday @ 6:35 PM!

Expanding the Walls of the Village!

How many of us took opportunity during this past Holy Week to spread the Gospel of Christ?

John Curtis Christian School students (Seth Jones, Prakash Akula, Josh Hanberry & Philipe Gilchrist) who also play in Good Shepherd's Worship Village band, did just that as they led praise & worship for Curtis High School students Wednesday morning. Prasad Akula, a junior who regularly attends Worship Village, delivered a sermon to the students.

About Worship Village

During the summer of 2010, Good Shepherd United Church of Christ announced the addition of a midweek service starting Fall 2010. The service, known as Worship Village, is a casual, comfortable, contemporary, Christ-centered worship experience on Thursday evenings at 6:35 PM. The 50 minute service features worship music, followed by Holy Scripture and a brief, applicable, Christ-centered message. The service concludes each week by celebrating the Lord’s Supper.
