Worship With Us This Week @ Good Shepherd

Thursday, May 17, 2012 @ 6:35 PM - Join us for our Midweek Service of Worship, Word and Holy Communion at Good Shepherd's Worship Village!  This week Pastor Gil fills in for Pastor Randy and he'll be preaching "Jesus the Healing Fountain" from John 5:2-8.

Sunday, May 20, 2012 @ 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM - Third Sunday of the month means two chances for Sunday morning worship.  Join us at 8:30 AM or 10:00 AM. At our 10:00 AM service, come prepared to choose your favorite hymn - it's our monthly "Congregation's Pick" Sunday!  Additionally, the Youth Choir will be singing.

New Member Sunday on May 27

Good Shepherd Announces Summer Youth Musical

Rehearsals Begin after 10am Worship on June 3

Last summer, our Youth performed Part 1 of "The Old Testament Fast Forward", a musical survey of Old Testament highlights and characters.  There were memorable songs, raps and dances about Adam, Eve, Noah, Moses and Joshua among others.   This summer, you'll get to hear the rest of the story and find out what happens next as Part 2 is presented.  Rehearsals will start on Sunday, June 3 and the play will be performed sometime in August  as vacations wind down and school begins.  Stay tuned for more details and info on how you can help out as this project continues to come together.

See me if you're interested in helping out.

Music Director

VBS June 25 - June 29

Join us during the week of June 25 thru June 29 for Vacation Bible School. It will once again be in the evenings from 6:30-8:30 PM. A meal will be served at 6:00 PM, Monday through Thursday. There is no charge for the meal but donations will be accepted and appreciated.

We are looking for volunteers in every area if you are able to help with your time (teacher, helper, kitchen worker, etc.) or any kind of donation (financial, food for meals, snack items, craft items, etc.). Any help you are willing to give would be put to good use for a very successful VBS.

Hawaiian Luau & Dance Raises Funds

Many thanks to all those who planned, attended and help make our Adult Flock Hawaiian Luau and Dance a GREAT success!  The dance was held on Saturday night, May 12 in the fellowship hall and helped us raise an additional $1300 toward retiring the debt on replacing the air conditioning unit in that building.

If you didn't attend, you missed a fantastic time of fellowship, food and dancing.  Keep your ears opened for the next Adult Flock social event coming soon!

Rev. Gary Arndt (July 12, 1947 - April 27, 2012)
Pastor at Good Shepherd UCC 1998-2009

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Galatians 5:16-18; 22-23
